It’s going to be a packed and exciting week for hackers in Prague! Kick off your blockchain bonanza with Winding Tree Hackathon on Oct 24–25. Join our team leading the Travel Track at Status Hackathon on Oct 26–28 and roll into Ethereum Foundation’s Devcon4 on Oct 30 — Nov 2.
What is This All About?
With the Winding Tree platform already supported by major airlines, hotels and the blockchain developer community we are taking the next step into the future by bringing all these players together to try out decentralized technology to solve real world industry challenges.
The Winding Tree Hackathon is your platform to experiment with what the future of travel tech will look like. It’s the time and the place to question how things have been done in the past and to look for fundamentally better ways.
And the best part is you don’t even have to be a blockchain developer to participate, we got you covered with our standard REST API and onsite hands-on complimentary training, mentorship and tons of documentation.
Who’s Joining?
The Winding Tree Hackathon brings together open source developers, travel startups, blockchain community leaders, technology visionaries and top industry innovators.
- Individual developers are welcome to join OR form their own hacker teams.
- Startups are encouraged to bring in their product and engineering teams to get complimentary training and to work on solutions for their actual product.
- Airlines and hotels get to bring their technology and innovation teams to get up to speed with blockchain developments and to experiment with decentralized distribution technology.
- Industry experts are invited to be part of the conversation about the future of travel distribution.
There are multiple ways you can be part of the hackathon:
- Hackers participate at no cost on both days. Apply to get your spot.
- Sponsors and mentors join at no cost on both days. Get in touch to reserve tour spot.
- Attendees can join us on both days to see keynotes, demos and attend networking after party. Attendee tickets are released in September.
- Technical workshop on Winding Tree API is complimentary to all participants: hackers, supporters, technology experts and attendees.
What is Happening?
We’ll kick off the hackathon on October 24th with keynotes on the state of development & adoption of blockchain based distribution in travel, Winding Tree open source developer initiatives and 3 hours of hands-on technical training on the Winding Tree API.
Participants can then form or join teams, finalize their hack project vision and kick off the hacking. Our team will be mentoring and guiding the teams throughout the entire 24hrs of hacking and our technology partners will be happy to consult and assist the community as well.
Hacking teams are welcome to hack late, we’ll make sure you won’t stay hungry or thirsty.
On October 25th hacking teams will finalize their hacks and in the afternoon we will be hosting the demos — this is when the industry experts will be joining us to watch the demos and discuss proposed solutions. Hacker Awards and networking after party is not to miss — good times guaranteed!
On the 26–28th of October we’re rolling into the Status Hackathon — this is your chance to continue hacking with us and be part of another amazing developer community. Winding Tree has partnered with Status to ensure that all hackers participating in Winding Tree hackathon are automatically enrolled to join Status — keep on hacking!
How To Participate?
Very simple, apply to hack, our team will review your application and we’ll get back to you with next steps. Hacking and demoing spots are free but limited, only approved hackers will get the spots.
To attend the workshop on the Winding Tree API, watch the demos and join the networking after party, you’ll need to register an attendee ticket. Spots are limited and we’ll be releasing available attendee tickets in September. The Winding Tree community gets priority, sign up for our newsletter to get your invite in the first wave.
