Announcing Winding Tree #HackTravel Hackathon in London

We’re taking our third hackathon on a tour again — join us on November 4th to the 6th in London, UK at World Travel Market’s Travel Forward event for a few days of learning, open collaboration and experimenting with decentralized technology to develop industry-backed Proofs-of-Concept. We are so grateful for the opportunity to have our hackathon at Travel Forward an industry leading Technology show.

What Can You Expect?

With the Winding Tree platform already supported by major airlines, hotels and the blockchain developer community we are taking the next step into the future by bringing these players together to continue to innovate decentralized technology to keep the momentum moving forward to solve real-world industry challenges.

The Winding Tree Hackathon at Travel Forward is your opportunity to experiment with what the future of travel technology will look like. It’s the time and the place to question how things have been done in the past and to look for fundamentally better ways to approach travel.

Worried that you don’t know enough about blockchain? The best part is you don’t even have to be a blockchain developer to participate, we have you covered with our standard REST API and onsite hands-on complimentary training, mentorship and loads of documentation to get the most out of your time at the hackathon.

Who’s Joining?

The Winding Tree Hackathon brings together open source developers, travel startups, blockchain community leaders, technology visionaries and top industry innovators.

• Individual developers are welcome to join OR form their own hacker teams.
• Startups are encouraged to bring in their product and engineering teams to get complimentary training and to work on solutions for their actual product.
• Airlines and hotels get to bring their technology and innovation teams to get up to speed with blockchain developments and to experiment with decentralized distribution technology.
• Industry experts are invited to be part of the conversation about the future of travel distribution.

There are multiple ways you can be part of the hackathon:

• Hackers participate at no cost. Apply to get your spot.
• Sponsors and mentors join at no cost on both days. Get in touch to purchase a mentor sport.
• Attendees can join us to see keynotes, attend demos and network.

What is Happening?

We’ll kick off the hackathon on November 4th with keynotes on the state of development & adoption of blockchain-based distribution in travel.

Participants can then form or join teams, finalize their hack project vision and kick off the hacking. Our team will be mentoring and guiding the teams throughout the entire Hackthon.

How To Participate?

Very simple, apply to hack, our team will review your application and we’ll get back to you with next steps. Hacking and demoing spots are free but limited, only approved hackers will get the spots. Please keep in mind that while participating at the Winding Tree hackathon is free the registration for our hackathon and Travel Forward are separate, you will still need to register for Travel Forward, you can do so here.
