March: Protocol Update and Development
We wanted to give you an update on the exciting progress we’ve been making with the Winding Tree market protocol development. The Winding Tree market protocol, the new system that is set to revolutionize the travel and hospitality industry. The developers have been hard at work and are excited to share the latest updates with you.
The main focus this past month has been on SDK development, and we are happy to report that the planned architecture of the SDK components has been almost fully implemented. The first release of SDK is planned for the first half of April. This is great news as it means that the system is on track for a full release soon.
The development team has been working on several components, including the coordination server, supplier node, and client node. While the coordination server has fully developed and functioning, the supplier node, and client node are not yet fully developed, they are about 50% complete, and the team is confident that they will be ready soon. Additionally, the smart contract is set to be developed in the coming weeks and should be ready by May.
The team is also working on improving the documentation and specifications for the system. They are constantly updating the code test coverage, with the aim of achieving 100% coverage by May. E2E tests are also in progress, with plans to automate them by the summer.
One of the key aspects of the protocol is decentralization. While the first implementation of the protocol will be decentralized from a governance point of view through the smart contract, the coordination server will initially be technically centralized. However, the team has already built decentralization into the coordination server through the use of libp2p. The next step in the protocol’s evolution will be to expand the coordination server into a network of independent servers, which will achieve the next level of decentralization. However, before we proceed with this, we will be preparing, implementing, and testing the motivational model for such solution.
